IBA Board of Directors

Members of the IBA Board of Directors are charged with the business of the IBA.  The Board of Directors includes the President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Immediate Past President, Executive Director, Secretary/Treasurer and four Directors.

The current Board of Directors bring to the table over 125 years of combined experience in the balloon and party industry. These dedicated industry members work very hard to provide leadership and guidance for the benefit of all IBA Members and the future prosperity of the balloon and party industry as a whole.

Tim Vlamis, President

Tim has held a variety of key positions within Pioneer since 1985 including management and direction of New Product Development, International, Education, Domestic Markets, Brand Management, and Retail Development. Tim received the "Crystal" award in 1995 given annually to the individual with the greatest career impact on the professional balloon industry for the conception and development of the Qualatex Balloon Network and its CBA certification program. Prior to joining Pioneer he worked in Chicago for Foote, Cone, & Belding Advertising in account management and as a consultant to Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in New York. One of the first 1000 to earn the Professional Certified Marketer designation (PCM) from the American Marketing Association, Tim is a passionate student of complexity theory, history of mathematics, and the principles and elements of design. Tim earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BA in Economics from Yale University.

Chuck Jacoby
is the owner of A2Z Balloon Company which is located in the suburban Detroit community of Livonia, Michigan.  He has been an IBA member since 2005 which was the year he purchased Zakoor Novelty and merged it with the helium and balloon portion of his other business, Advance Novelty Company.   A2Z is a full service wholesale distributor of balloons and helium carrying all major balloon lines from Anagram, Pioneer, ConverUSA, Betallic, CTI and Classic as well as a full line of balloon accessories, inflation equipment and party supplies.  Advance Novelty operates out of the same 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse as A2Z and its primary product lines are bingo supplies, imprinted merchandise, casino rental equipment, carnival toys, novelties and other fund raising merchandise.  Chuck resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan and enjoys golf, travel and walking his two dogs Louie and Rocco.

Kathi Leiden is President of Zephyr Solutions an international wholesaler of balloon inflation equipment and retail merchandising tools.  Zephyr Solutions is the master distributor for Cramer Decker Industries helium products. Her growth plan for the company includes continual new product development, expansion into untapped markets and building a team of positive, pro-active, happy people. She currently serves as the chairperson for the IBA marketing committee.

Kathi was formerly the Business Unit Manager for the Westwinds division of Western Enterprises  and prior to that worked as a Director of Sales and Marketing for Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

She and her husband have 3 children and live in Avon Lake, OH.

Craig joined Betallic as President in 2008 after 3 years serving as President of Dynasty Designs, a manufacturer and distributor of fashion accessories.
Prior to joining Dynasty Designs, Craig worked in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs, executing M&A and corporate finance assignments across various financial services industries. He is a graduate of Stanford University (BA ‘02, MA ‘03), where he was an Academic All Pac-10 football player. He and his wife Sedef live in St. Louis and one daughter.

Tracy has been in the balloon, floral and accessories business for the past 22 years.  She served as National Sales Manager for Betallic Balloon for several years and as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Aerial Bouquets for the past 14 years.  Her expertise specializes in custom programs, category management, merchandising and education. Her company’s partnerships with their retailers is a key ingredient to the success of the balloon programs they enjoy together. She has served on the Super Floral Advisory Board, FMA tasks forces, PMA Floral Advisory Board and written articles for Super Floral Retailing.

Todd Moody, Director of Domestic Purchasing, joined burton + BURTON in 1985 (shortly after its inception in 1982), and has been instrumental in helping to grow the organization into the industry leader that it is today. Over the years, he has gained a thorough understanding of domestic purchasing operations, the balloon business as a whole, and has developed a broad network of contacts throughout the balloon industry. 

In addition to his company responsibilities, Todd is active in many community organizations, to include serving as the annual chairman of the Athens-Clarke County Annual Heartwalk for the American Heart Association.  He is a life-long citizen of Athens, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia with a focus on Business Administration.

Having worked in the balloon industry for the past 17 years, Molly was a category buyer for balloons for a large retailer with 120 stores from 1991 to 1994.  In 1994, Molly joined Anagram International as a Regional Sales Manager working closely with both distributors and retailers on balloon programs and merchandising solutions.  Molly is passionate about the balloon industry and is dedicated to growing the business at all channels of distribution. Molly lives in Michigan with her husband and 2 daughters.

Dale Moore is a second-generation balloon enthusiast with over 30 years experience in the balloon industry.  He currently is the owner of Andon Balloons Inc, in Richfield, Minnesota, which was started by his father in 1973.   Dale has had experience in retail, wholesale, decorating and helium distribution throughout his career. Dale has earned his CBA as well as competing at IBAC, IBA, Balloon Camp and NABAS in the sculpture contests.  His sculptures have won many awards both in the United States and the United Kingdom.  He is the QBN chapter president in Minnesota.  Dale enjoys activities including roller skating, disc golf, and volleyball.

Marty began working in the balloon industry in 1986 when she joined the staff of Balloon World, Inc.,  as Director of Marketing and Sales.

Elected to the IBA Board of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer in 1997, Marty has served as Executive Director since 2000. Marty sees to the general administration and management of the affairs of the IBA acting as liaison for the corporation to the balloon industry. Marty is married with three children ages 19, 20, and 22.
