IBA is pleased to announce the creation of a new committee called the Smart Balloon Practices (SBP) Committee. In keeping with the IBA Mission Statement to protect and preserve the industry for future generations, the SBP Committee will provide on-going support and assistance in promoting the practice of individually weighting helium-filled metallic balloons.

Mission Statement
The IBA Smart Balloon Practices Committee is committed to educating and reinforcing smart and environmentally responsible balloon practices to the entire balloon industry as well as the general public.

It is recommended by The Balloon Council to use Smart Balloon Practices when selling helium-filled metallic balloons. Accidental power outages and litter caused by errant balloons are a concern for everyone in the industry and Smart Balloon Practices require the individual weighting of metallic balloons to prevent escape.
As responsible members of the balloon community it is our duty and obligation to follow these guidelines and to take care to educate our customers on the importance of "hanging on" to their purchases. Encouraging Smart Balloon Practices now will insure the continued enjoyment of balloons for future generations to come.
